About Smart Pups

At Smart Pups we absolutely love pets and are committed to helping them and their guardians live better lives together. We believe that training should be fun, effective and cooperative, which is why we use reward-based training to help dog and cat guardians solve both common and complex behavior issues.

Who we are

Smart Pups is a dog training and cat behavior consulting company based in Longwood, Florida. We help dog and cat guardians understand their pet's behavior, how they communicate and how to meet their needs.

We are committed to using modern, evidence-based training methods that prioritize the welfare and wellbeing of both pet and guardian. According to the most up-to-date behavioral research, reward-based training is the most humane and effective type of training for dogs (and other animals!).  We adhere to the LIMA Policy set forth by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC). We do not use force, pain, fear or intimidation to train (no prong collars, e-collars, "corrections", etc.).

Meet the Founder

Smart Pups was founded by Taylor Argenbright, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), who is dedicated to using positive, reward-based training methods to help dog and cat guardians solve behavior issues.

Taylor began working with dogs professionally as a dog walker and pet sitter in Brooklyn, NY. Noticing that she had a natural ability to work with "challenging" dogs (those who growled at new people, hid under the bed, pulled on-leash, etc.), the owner of the company promoted her to General Manager. Assisting her team in working with these dogs sparked her curiosity for dog training. She went on to complete a dog training apprenticeship program, earn her CPDT-KA, teach group classes and work with private training clients.

Taylor now lives in Longwood, FL (with her cat, Lily) and continues to help dog and cat guardians develop better relationships with their pets with her gentle, empathetic approach to training.
